Get Fast and Efficient Mobile Locksmith Services 24/7

Lockmart’s qualified mobile locksmiths provide onsite locksmith services for homes, businesses and commercial facilities across Melbourne’s south-east, Bayside, Frankston, Casey and the Mornington Peninsula. Established in Frankston in 1967, Lockmart has been helping customers with locks, keys and security for almost 60 years and today operates four physical stores in Seaford, Braeside, Mornington and Rosebud, supported by our mobile locksmith team and 24/7 emergency service.

Our onsite locksmiths handle everything from everyday lock repairs, rekeying, lost or stolen keys, lockouts and new lock installations through to security doors, sliding doors, gates, letterbox locks and keyed-alike systems. If you’ve moved house, lost a key or simply don’t know who may still have copies, we can often rekey your existing locks so the old keys no longer work without needing to replace every lock. Where a lock is worn, sticking or difficult to operate, we’ll assess whether it can be repaired or adjusted before recommending replacement.

We also provide a broad range of commercial and electronic locksmith services, including digital and smart lock installation, master and restricted key systems, access control, door closers and commercial door hardware. Our locksmiths regularly attend businesses, schools, childcare centres, healthcare and aged-care facilities, government sites, strata properties and managed commercial buildings. We can also assist with applicable DDA and accessible door hardware, fire and emergency-exit hardware, pool gate locks, latches and self-closing hardware, including rectification work identified during building, access, fire or pool-safety inspections. Where formal compliance certification is required, this is completed by the relevant registered building, fire, access or pool-safety professional.

Why Choose Lockmart?

Not every locksmith problem is straightforward, and some of the jobs we enjoy most are the ones that don’t fit neatly into a standard service category. Locks become obsolete, manufacturers disappear, doors are modified over the years and sometimes standard replacement hardware simply won’t fit. If you’ve already been told “it can’t be done,” give Lockmart a call anyway. With qualified locksmiths, four stores and access to a huge range of residential and commercial hardware, we’ll investigate whether the existing setup can be repaired, rekeyed, adapted, modified or replaced with a more suitable solution. We can’t promise every old lock can be saved, but we’re happy to look at the difficult ones.

Our locksmith vans operate as mobile workshops, carrying specialist locksmith tools together with commonly used locks, cylinders, keys and door hardware so that many jobs can be completed during the first visit. Our mobile locksmiths hold Working with Children Checks and National Police Checks and regularly work in environments where security, professionalism and accountability matter. Whether it’s one faulty lock at home, a commercial rekey, a digital lock installation, a door closer that won’t latch or an unusual problem you’re not sure who to call about, contact Lockmart on 1300 730 539. Emergency locksmith assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Professional: Our licensed mobile locksmiths always travel in a branded mobile workshop. You'll get a service quote over the phone before we carry out an efficient on-site opening, repair, or installation.

Qualified: Our mobile locksmiths have the right training and qualifications to carry out your service per Australian regulations and OH&S requirements.

Available: Lockmart mobile locksmiths are available 24/7 to answer your emergency call. So the next time you're locked out of your home at 3 am, just remember our mobile locksmiths are only one call away.

What does an onsite locksmith do?

An onsite or mobile locksmith travels directly to your home, business or property to carry out locksmith work. Lockmart’s mobile locksmiths can assist with lock repairs, rekeying, lockouts, installations, digital locks, commercial door hardware, master and restricted key systems and many other locking problems.

Do I need to bring my lock to a Lockmart store?

No - our mobile locksmiths can come to your home or business. However, one of the things that makes Lockmart different is that we also have four physical locksmith stores in Seaford, Braeside, Mornington and Rosebud.

If the lock, cylinder, handle or piece of door hardware can be removed and brought into one of our stores, our locksmiths can often repair, rekey, identify or replace it over the counter, without the cost of sending a mobile locksmith to site. For many smaller jobs, this can make the repair significantly cheaper than an onsite callout.

Customers regularly bring us locks with lost keys, faulty cylinders, old or unusual hardware, letterbox locks, door handles, padlocks and other locking components for our team to inspect. In many cases we can repair or rekey the existing hardware rather than replacing the entire unit.

Having four real locksmith stores also means our mobile technicians are backed by experienced locksmiths, workshops, key-cutting equipment and a much broader range of parts and hardware than a mobile-only service.

Not sure whether to bring it in or book a locksmith? Give us a call or send us a photo first and we’ll let you know the most practical and cost-effective option.

How quickly can a mobile locksmith get to me?

Response time depends on your location, traffic, current demand and where our locksmiths are working at the time. Emergency work is prioritised, and our team can give you an indication of availability when you call.

Can you repair a lock instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. A lock that is sticking, difficult to turn or no longer operating correctly does not automatically need to be replaced. Our locksmiths can assess the lock, cylinder, latch, door alignment and associated hardware before recommending the most appropriate repair or replacement.

Can you rekey a lock if I’ve lost the original key?

In many cases, yes. Depending on the type of lock, a locksmith can often rekey it even when the original key is no longer available. Rekeying changes the lock so that the missing or old keys no longer operate it.

Can you make all the locks at my house work with one key?

Often. If the locks and cylinders are compatible, they may be able to be keyed alike, allowing one key to operate several doors. If some of the existing locks are not compatible, we can explain what would need to be changed.

Can you install a digital or smart lock on my existing door?

In many cases, yes. Compatibility depends on the existing lock, door construction, backset, thickness and the digital lock being considered. Lockmart can assess the existing door and recommend suitable smart or digital lock options rather than assuming every lock will fit every door.

Can you repair old, obsolete or unusual locks?

Often. Lockmart has been working with locks and door hardware since 1967, and our locksmiths regularly encounter older and unusual products. If the original part is no longer available, we may be able to repair the existing lock, source a compatible component, modify the setup or recommend an alternative locking solution.

Another locksmith told me my lock can’t be fixed. Is it worth asking Lockmart?

Yes. We can’t guarantee every lock or piece of hardware can be repaired, but we’re happy to investigate unusual problems. There may be another repair method, compatible component, cylinder conversion, modification or replacement option that hasn’t been considered.

Do your locksmiths attend schools, childcare centres and other sensitive sites?

Yes. Our mobile locksmiths regularly attend schools, childcare centres, healthcare facilities, aged-care facilities, government sites and other sensitive environments. Our field locksmiths hold Working with Children Checks and National Police Checks.

What areas do Lockmart mobile locksmiths service?

Our mobile locksmith team services Melbourne’s south-east, Frankston, Bayside, Kingston, Casey, Melbourne CBD and the Mornington Peninsula, together with surrounding suburbs. Our road team is supported by Lockmart stores in Seaford, Braeside, Mornington and Rosebud.

What if my locksmith problem isn’t listed on this page?

Call us anyway. Locksmithing covers an enormous variety of locks, doors, keys and security hardware. Send us photos, describe what is happening or arrange an onsite assessment. If there is a practical way to repair it, rekey it, adapt it, replace it or improve it, we’ll do our best to find it.

Can you help with fire door and emergency exit hardware?

Yes. Lockmart can assist with applicable locks, latches, door closers, exit devices and other door hardware used on fire doors and required exits.

If you’ve received a fire-door inspection, building audit or defect report, send it through to our team and we can assess the locksmithing and door-hardware items, quote the required work and carry out the rectification.

Where formal fire-door certification or compliance sign-off is required, that remains with the relevant fire-door inspector, building surveyor or other authorised professional.

Can you help with DDA and accessible door hardware?

Yes. Lockmart works with locks, lever furniture, latches, door closers and other hardware used on accessible doors and paths of travel.

We can assist with new installations, upgrades and rectification work where a builder, access consultant, facility manager or auditor has identified door-hardware issues.

This commonly includes doors that are difficult to operate, unsuitable handles or latches, door closers requiring attention, or locking arrangements that need to better suit an accessible application.

Where formal accessibility certification is required, Lockmart can complete the relevant locksmith and door-hardware work alongside the appropriate building or access professional.

Can you help if my pool gate or door has failed a pool-safety inspection?

Yes. Lockmart can assist with the locking, latching and self-closing hardware on pool gates and doors forming part of a pool or spa barrier.

If a pool inspector has identified issues such as a gate that does not self-close, a latch that does not engage correctly, faulty locking hardware or a door leading to the pool area that requires suitable self-closing or self-latching operation, send us the inspection report or photos.

Our locksmiths can assess the relevant hardware and carry out suitable repair, adjustment or replacement work.

The formal pool-barrier compliance inspection and certificate must still be completed by the appropriately registered inspector or building professional.
